Italy has informed the European Commission about the introduction of temporary border controls for arrivals by sea and air for 30 days with Spain, a diplomatic source in Brussels told TASS.
"The Italian government, in accordance with the Schengen regulations, informed the European Commission about the temporary restoration of border control with Spain for a period of up to 30 days," he said.
He clarified that this applies to passengers arriving in Italy by sea and air, as Italy does not have a land border with Spain.
