Finnish air traffic controllers have lifted flight restrictions this morning in the area under their control in the eastern Gulf of Finland, a source of European Union air traffic controllers told TASS.
"The restrictions imposed by Helsinki air traffic controllers in the area controlled over the eastern Gulf of Finland early this morning have been lifted," the source said. He did not specify the reason for the restrictions. At the same time, according to Yle, the country's authorities have closed not only part of their airspace, but also sea waters due to the threat of drones.
The headquarters of the Finnish Armed Forces told Yle that the restrictions were put in place to allow drones to be shot down if they entered the country.
