The Saudi-led coalition struck the military facilities of Houthi rebels in Yemen's Hodeidah province of the Ansar Allah movement, which threatened shipping in the Red Sea, alliance spokesman Turki al-Maliki said in a statement.
"The strikes were focused on legitimate military targets threatening shipping in the Red Sea," the statement said. Al-Maliki emphasized that the coalition did not attack the port of Hodeida and that the military operation has already ended. "The military operation ended with the realization of the principle of proportionality and the intended operational goals," he added.
According to an alliance spokesman, all Yemeni ports, including Hodeidah, Ras Isa and Al Salif, are open to navigation and continue to serve commercial ships carrying food, fuel and construction materials. He also accused the Houthis of refusing to resume commercial flights from Sana'a International Airport.
