Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks within the framework of the ASEAN Summit in Manila at the International Convention Center of the Philippines, TASS reports.
The talks between Lavrov and Rubio started at 11:54 local time (at 6:54 Moscow time). On July 22, Lavrov announced that he plans to discuss with Rubio the statement of US President Donald Trump on the possible rapprochement of the Ukrainian conflict.
According to the Russian minister, Moscow assumes that Washington has not yet abandoned the proposals presented during the meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Trump in Anchorage. He hopes for the implementation of the agreements scheduled for August 15, 2025, as a possible basis for the settlement of Ukraine and the further development of Russian-American relations.
