The Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier of the French Navy will complete its mission in the Arabian Sea in the coming days and return to the port of Toulon for repairs. This was reported by BFMTV TV channel.
According to the channel, this is a scheduled repair scheduled for July, which was agreed before the aircraft carrier was deployed to the Middle East. As the TV channel reminds, the aircraft carrier left Toulon on January 27 to participate in the "Orion" exercise, which also took place in the Baltic Sea. From there it was redirected to the Eastern Mediterranean and then the Arabian Sea due to the blockade of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz amid the US-Israeli war against Iran.
Despite the departure of Charles de Gaulle, France will maintain its presence in the region, leaving the Mistral helicopter carrier there. The air defense frigate accompanying the aircraft carrier will be replaced by a similar ship.
