French police arrested 416 people during riots in several cities after Paris Saint-Germain's victory in the Champions League final. This was reported by Le Figaro, referring to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The newspaper quotes about 283 people arrested in the Paris agglomeration.
"In some cities, including Paris, the celebrations were accompanied by riots, which required the intervention of law enforcement agencies," the newspaper quoted the ministry as saying.
The unrest spread to Havre (west), Agen (southwest), Montpellier (south) and Dijon (east). Clashes between fans and police were previously reported in several other French cities.
The Parisian club defeated the English "Arsenal" in the final of the Champions League held in Budapest. The game ended 1-1 after regular time and two extra periods, but PSG won 4-3 on penalties. The goalkeeper of the French team was the Russian Matvey Safonov, who became the first Russian football player to win the Champions League twice.
