A draft of a future US-Iran peace deal would oblige Tehran to remove all mines from the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days, in return for Washington to gradually lift its naval blockade, Axios reported Thursday, citing unnamed US officials.
According to the publication, if President Donald Trump finally approves the draft agreement, navigation through the strait will be "unlimited". According to the sources of the portal, this implies the absence of any payment for the passage of ships, and also obliges Tehran to remove all mines from the strait within a month.
According to Axios, in response, the US will begin to lift the maritime blockade against Iran, and this will happen at a rate "commensurate with the restoration of commercial shipping."
