US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that in the event of a peace agreement with Iran, it will be beneficial for all parties, including Israel and other US allies in the Middle East.
"Hopefully, we will be able to make a deal that will be good for all of us, including our allies in the Middle East who have been very good to us, including Israel," the US president said at an event in Memphis.
According to the US leader, the negotiations between Washington and Tehran started about two days ago. "I think they (negotiations - ed.) are going very well. They want peace... I would say that there is a very high chance of success," the US leader said.
At the same time, the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghai, told the IRNA news agency earlier that Tehran did not conduct any negotiations with Washington, but presented its position to the mediators.
