The Israeli army has launched a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon under the guise of preventive defensive operations, according to a statement from the Arabic-speaking spokesman of the Israel Defense Forces, Avihai Adrei.
"The forces of the 91st Division have recently launched limited ground operations targeting key positions in southern Lebanon in order to expand the primary defense zone," Adrei wrote on his social media page.
According to the spokesperson, the operation is being carried out as part of efforts to strengthen the front line of defense and includes the destruction of "terrorist infrastructure" and the elimination of "militants" operating in the area to eliminate threats and create an additional layer of security for the residents of northern Israel.
