US President Donald Trump claimed that Tehran does not show willingness to take concrete actions to reach an agreement on its nuclear program and threatened to use force against Iran.
"I will note that they want to talk. But, until now, they have talked a lot, but have not taken any action," the American leader insisted, referring to the Iranian government.
When asked what actions Tehran should take to prevent the United States from using military force against it, Trump answered: "Give us the deal they should have given us the first time."
"If they give us the right deal, we won't do it," he added, referring to the US's use of force against Iran. "But they (the Iranian government) have not done that in the past." Trump answered questions from reporters before leaving for North Carolina, where he spoke at the Fort Bragg military base. On January 26, Washington announced that a "large fleet" was moving towards Iran.
The American side expressed hope that Tehran will sit at the negotiating table and reach a "fair and equal" deal, including the complete abandonment of nuclear weapons.
The US has warned that "the next attack will be worse", referring to the strikes against the Islamic Republic in the summer of 2025, and called for "not to let this happen".
