As a result of the June 7 elections, the CP members, who did not get a constitutional majority, even 50 percent, decided to change the text of the parliamentary oath, adapting it to the idea of "real Armenia" invented by Pashinyan. Emphasis on national goals will be left out of the text, and it will be narrowed to the territory of Armenia. Until now, the following text of the oath was recited:
"For the sake of the realization of national goals and the strengthening and prosperity of the motherland, I swear to conscientiously fulfill my obligations to the people, to uphold the constitution and laws of the Republic of Armenia, to contribute to the preservation of the sovereignty and interests of the Republic of Armenia, to do everything to preserve civil solidarity, national and universal values."
According to the project authored by Alen Simonyan, Arusyak Julhakyan and Hasmik Hakobyan, it is proposed to leave out of the text the expressions "for the realization of national goals", "for the preservation of national and universal values". Instead, add in the text that they will do everything for the citizens of Armenia "to protect security and freedoms", as well as conclude the text of the oath with one of Pashinyan's post-war slogans: "Glory to the martyrs, and long live the Republic of Armenia."
