The fight against illegal migration and health protection of Russian citizens was presented to the State Duma
bill. According to TASS, the main points are as follows:
▪️It is proposed to reduce the period of medical examination for dangerous infectious diseases and HIV, as well as drug use, to 30 days after entering the Russian Federation. Previously, this period was 90 days.
▪️It is also proposed to require annual examinations if migrants have arrived in the country for more than 30 days.
▪️ It is proposed to tighten the criminal penalties for the forgery and circulation of false documents certifying the absence of dangerous diseases.
▪️It is proposed to allow the deportation of migrants from the Russian Federation by court order to avoid medical examination.
▪️Medical organizations will be obliged to inform the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rospotrebnadzor about dangerous diseases in migrants for quick deportation.
▪️Only authorized medical organizations will be able to conduct medical examinations for migrants.
▪️It is proposed to increase the fines for migrants who avoid medical examinations by twelve times, up to 25,000-50,000 rubles.
▪️Migrants using fake medical certificates will be imprisoned for up to 4 years.
A fine of up to 1 million rubles is proposed for medical organizations that violate the procedure for conducting medical examinations of migrants.
