Aliyev admitted that they could have continued the war. However, that would mean endless wars, suffering, and victims. Someone had to stop it.
"It was the joint decision of the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan to close the page of the conflict and open the possibilities of peace. It happened at a record speed when, in the presence of Trump, I and the Prime Minister of Armenia signed the peace declaration, initialed the peace agreement," he said.
According to the President of Azerbaijan, a new transport corridor is being created from Central Asia through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Nakhichevan, Turkey to Europe with TRIPP and the US Transshipment Communication Project.
He added that the parallel Armenia-Turkey and Armenia-Azerbaijan settlement processes will also be resolved in parallel with the simultaneous establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey, as well as between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
