RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condolences in connection with the railway accident that took place in Spain on the evening of January 18.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of the railway accident in the south of Spain. We express our sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wish a speedy and complete recovery to all those injured as a result of this tragic incident," the ministry said in a statement on the X social network.

The train accident happened on January 18, at 19:45 local time, near the city of Adamuz, Andalusia, in the south of Spain. The carriages of the high-speed train from Malaga to Madrid derailed and ended up on the opposite side of the train from Madrid to Huelva. At least 39 people died.
