Senate elections have started in Egypt

The polling stations opened for voting in the elections of the Egyptian Senate (Upper Chamber) of the parliament, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

The voting in the 27 states of the country will last two days, on Monday and Tuesday at 09: 00-21: 00. The voting took place in the polling stations outside Egypt on August 1 and 2.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi office said that the country's leader has already voted at the polling station of Helopolis district of Cairo.

About 68 million voters have the right to vote, more than 8,000 polling stations will operate in the country on August 4 and 5.
