French prosecutors have asked for new arrest orders for Assad

The Paris Prosecutor's Office has requested a new international detention of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, after the previous one was canceled by the Court of Cassation, reporting the statement of the Prosecutor's Office.

"The National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday that he was trying to release new international arrest for former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad," the media reported.

Since the former president has not been protected by personal immunity since December 2024, the prosecutor's office has asked "to release the arrest and to be accused of being accused of crimes against humanity and accusing military crimes."

On Friday, the French Court of Cassation has canceled Assad's arrest.
