US Secretary of State Scott Bessent has said that Washington seeks to sign trade agreements with its 18 most important trading partners.
"It seems to me that we will sign a lot of regional deals, it will bet on a part of Central America and Africa," said the head of the Ministry of Finance.
The Minister added that US customs duties will return to foreign products on the initial level of April 2 if countries do not agree with Washington for 90 days.
It should be reminded that US President Donald Trump has postponed the definition of mirror customs duties for more than 75 countries on April 9. At the same time, he announced the mutual customs duties on the mentioned period of up to 10% of the above-mentioned countries. He has entered a new customs regime between the United States and China since May 14. US customs duties on Chinese products have been reduced by 145%, and Chinese customs duties have been reduced from 125% to American goods. The main fee of imported goods remains 10%.
