Within the framework of his working visit to Syunik region, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Minister of Territorial Administration David Khudatyan visited the Kapan Mining and Processing Plant CJSC. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
The company operates Shahumyan's gold-polymetallic mine in Syunik region, underground, produces gold concentrate, copper and silver content.
The company has about 2,000 employees, the annual productivity is 600 thousand tons.
The ministers toured the factory and got acquainted with the production capabilities.
"The mining industry is one of the priority areas of our country's economy and is ready to support the Kapan Mining and Processing Factory, which will contribute to the sustainable development of the company, increasing efficiency and increase productivity," said George Papoyan.
The company's management presented the activities of the plant, current and intended programs, to note that the volume of annual productivity want to increase up to one million tons.
