The Armenian-Turkish dialogue refers not only to the official establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of the border, but also large-scale trade. "We both understand that the ultimate goal is to normalize relations, including the establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of the entire border. According to him, they touched upon the topic of cooperation in international forums.
"Because reality shows that sometimes when it comes to Middle Eastern issues, our views, our perceptions are closer than it can be assumed," he added.
The Foreign Minister stressed that some steps between Ankara and Yerevan have already taken place in areas such as "the use of airspace", and the experts of the two countries held discussions on the Margara-Alika border checkpoint and the Gyumri-Kars railway.
However, he acknowledged that progress has stopped in some areas. "We have an agreement to open the border for the citizens of third countries, as well as the citizens of Armenia and Turkey with diplomatic passports. Unfortunately, this agreement has not yet been implemented, "the minister said.
