As a result of the monitoring of social media and mass media outlets carried out by the Defender's Office, discrimination and hatred expressions, which hinder the sale of women's rights and disrupt public solidarity. Sex-related prejudices and misconceptions about the role of a woman are rooted at all levels of society and public life, contradicting the principle of equality.
The Human Rights Defender condemns any manifestation of discrimination and any excuses of inadmissible behavior due to it. It is more worrying that such a word often spreads political and public figures, as well as the mass media. Moreover, in the context of public perception, the manifestations of such a speech are often not perceived as problematic and are not received by the necessary public reaction. In order to ensure public solidarity and equality, it is important to exclude the misconceptions, stereotypes and discrimination.
Public figures are obliged to promote the atmosphere of solidarity, strengthening women's opportunities and protection of their rights, not only excluding any discriminatory treatment, but also counteracting such manifestations.
