On February 17, at 11:43, the Crisis Management Center of the Lori Regional Rescue Department received an alarm that grass cover burns on the Vanadzor-Spitak highway.
Two operative groups of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and six fire brigades from fire-rescue squads left for the scene.
