On February 8, 2025, the specialists of the Psychological Assistance Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia left for Stepanavan, Lori region, to provide psychological assistance to the citizens affected by a difficult fire in Ashotaberd district.
Psychological support was aimed at improving the mental state of the affected citizens by emergency specialists, the mitigation of stressful situations.
The purpose of the work was not only to reduce the level of stress, but also the formation of management mechanisms of victims and providing support in the process of overcoming these severe trials.
At the scene, psychologists provided first psychological assistance to 20 total citizens who were directly affected by the fire.
They received special advice aimed at reducing mental tensions and psychological recovery.
It should be noted that the share of the Psychological Assistance of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs provides psychological assistance to all citizens who find out in emergencies and need psychological assistance.
Psychological support has an important role, especially for vulnerable groups, which contributes not only to physical rehabilitation, but also plays a significant role in improving mental health, especially in situations that citizens have to face difficult and psychologically difficult situations.
