By the order of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan dated February 11, Garik Tsaturyan was appointed the head of the “Armavir” penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice.

In the context of the above, today, on February 12, the head of the penitentiary service Tsovinar Tadevosyan introduced the newly appointed head, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Garik Tsaturyan, to the staff of the “Armavir” penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice.
Tsovinar Tadevosyan first congratulated the newly appointed head of the institution on assuming the leadership of the institution, then in her speech noted that Garik Tsaturyan has many years of work experience in the penitentiary sector, is familiar with the peculiarities of the system, and expressed hope that his joint work with the staff will yield higher results in a short period of time. Garik Tsaturyan, in turn, expressed gratitude for the trust, assuring that all efforts will be invested in achieving the specified results.
The head of the service also touched upon a number of problems existing in penitentiary institutions, around which appropriate work should be carried out. “Zero tolerance towards corruption manifestations,” said Tsovinar Tadevosyan, emphasizing that the main reason for the existence of a criminal subculture, the penetration of drugs and prohibited items are precisely corruption manifestations.
Tsovinar Tadevosyan also spoke about the importance of resocialization of persons deprived of their liberty, noting in particular that the joint work of all subdivisions of the institution plays a major role in increasing the effectiveness of resocialization, since the ultimate goal of the penitentiary system is to return to society resocialized, law-abiding and positive-behaving persons.
