The Competition Protection Commission, by its decision No. 55-A dated February 4, 2024, terminated the proceedings initiated against the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports regarding the provision of state assistance to the “Doping Space” company for the organization of Snoop Dogg’s concert.
As a result of the study conducted within the framework of the proceedings, it was recorded that the share of assistance provided to the “Doping Space” company in the total revenue of organizing companies operating in the market for organizing sports and other events amounted to only 7.06 percent.
Moreover, the event organization market is quite broad, and the Commission’s study concerned a certain segment of the market. Meanwhile, in the case of assessing the entire market, the share of assistance provided to the “Doping Space” company would have decreased further, therefore, even if the concert had taken place and the provided state assistance had been used, there would have been no possibility of restricting competition in the market, the MSU reports.
