ZCMC sends striking employees to forced idle


The trade union of "ZCMC" CJSC and ZCMC CJSC issued a joint statement on the strike of more than 700 employees of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine.

"In violation of the labor legislation and employment contracts of the Republic of Armenia, on January 31 2025, a number of employees were not employed to work, they did not start their job responsibilities or left their jobs, demanding the ultimatum. An unrealistic increase in salaries, which sabotaged the work process in the company.

"ZCMC" CJSC does not consider the above-mentioned actions on strike and does not support them, considering it un lawless.

Due to illegal employees' illegal actions, the company's production cycle has been disrupted, the company and other employees carry significant material damage.

If the above-mentioned illegal actions continue, the company will have to send a significant number of its employees to forced idle.

Taking into account the above, in the interests of the vast majority of "ZCMC" CJSC and the company's employees, the company will provide disciplinary action to hold disciplinary action, in accordance with Chapter 21 of the RA Labor Code. "
