On August 15, 2024, the criminal proceedings initiated in the investigation department of the Shengavit administrative district of the RA Investigative Committee revealed that on the same day GG killed his mother GK with a knife and ran away.
As a result of large-scale investigative and evidentiary operations carried out during the preliminary investigation, it was found that on August 14, the son was in a psychiatric hospital at the initiative of his mother.
Then, with the motive of revenge, GG appeared at his family's place of residence and stabbed his mother multiple times with a knife at least 27 times on different parts of her body, including cutting the latter's vital organ, the neck, as a result of which she was illegally deprived of her life.
According to the appointed forensic psychiatric examination, G.G. was recognized as sane. A public criminal prosecution was initiated against him under the 6th and 9th points of part 2 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code (murder by a close relative with separate brutality).
Arrest was applied to G.G. as a preventive measure. On December 30, 2024, the criminal proceedings were sent to the supervising prosecutor with an indictment to approve it and to send it to the court for examination on the merits.
