The hearing of the arrest petition of Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan was again postponed, this time for 2 hours. It should be noted that Tiran Khachatryan was arrested this morning.
The examination of his petition for arrest was scheduled at 18:00 at the Avan (Masiv Court) seat of the Court of First Instance of the city of Yerevan. Judge Masis Melkonyan will examine the petition for detention. Khachatryan's lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan said that the charge brought against Tiran Khachatryan (military official negligence during martial law), which he does not accept, is related to some circumstances of the 44-day war.
"Under pre-trial and military secrecy, we cannot provide more details at this stage, but we repeat that Tiran Khachatryan does not accept the charges brought against him and has repeatedly given exhaustive and detailed pre-trial statements regarding the same circumstances and has not hindered the preliminary investigation in any way," the lawyer noted. :
Lawyer Armen Andrikyan also informed that the case, in the framework of which Khachartyan was charged, has 5 volumes and 1200 pages, so they did not get to know the details and they will mediate to postpone the investigation of the case.
