The arrest of Suren Abovyan, head of the architecture department of the Vanadzor municipality, has been replaced by house arrest, reports"Freedom".
About 5 months ago, Abovyan was arrested on charges of receiving bribes from Vanadzor-based businessmen. His two-month detention period was extended once.
Since the court has restricted contacts with the official accused of accepting bribes, it was not possible to contact him.
Lawyer Aren Mnatsakanyan also refused to comment, saying that they prefer not to speak during the trial.
