During the joint activities carried out during the ban on hunting and selling whitefish, the employees of the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Authority, the Police and the Eco-Patrol Service discovered a case of poaching in the coastal area of Lake Sevan during the night shift.
At night, around 10:00 p.m., a fishing boat was seen leaving the lake on the shore of the lake in the Karchaghbyur settlement of the Vardenis community.
The poachers fled, leaving a rubber boat at the scene, in which there were 560 whitefish with a total weight of 207 kg. The damage caused to the fish farm amounted to 1,035,000 drams. The materials were handed over to law enforcement agencies.
Work is underway to identify the offenders.
