The construction of Ajapnyak metro station is being postponed again. Avinyan announced a new date

The construction of Ajapnyak station of Yerevan metro will start from 2026. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said this during the end-of-year press conference. It should be noted that back in March 2024, during the administrative meeting of the Yerevan Municipality, Mayor Avinyan announced that the construction of the station will begin in 2024.

"At present, the simple examination of the project, the EIA, we are in the process of complex examination, the negotiations with the Eurasian Fund are in the practical stage. Next year, we plan to have the results of complex examinations, the full technical and economic study, in the first quarter to have the positive conclusion of the government's investment committee, and at the end of the year to have an actual builder-developer who should start working already. We will start building from 2026," Avinyan said.

He emphasized that there was no attempt to conduct examinations of a similar project in the last few decades.
