I will continue to speak directly with Putin. Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has assured that he intends to continue talking directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin, hoping that he will contribute to the end of the conflict in Ukraine, writes TASS.

"I spoke with the Russian president and I will speak with him again," said the head of the German government in Berlin at a joint press conference with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal.

Scholz insists that he intends to make the Russian leader "understand" the need to end the conflict and the importance of contributing to the withdrawal of troops. "I think this needs to be said," the chancellor added.
