On August 25, simultaneous searches were conducted at a total of 17 business and residence addresses of economic entities in the General Department for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in connection with criminal proceedings on cases of non-payment of taxes in particularly large amounts, as a result of which documents and objects of importance for criminal proceedings were found and seized.
The business addresses of economic entities were sealed in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code for the purpose of carrying out evidentiary and procedural actions.
Based on the facts proving the commission of crimes, investigators of the Main Department for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia submitted motions to the supervising prosecutor to initiate public criminal prosecution under Article 290, Part 3, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code against directors I.H., A.A., K.A. and former director H.M., which were granted.
The latter were arrested. Motions to apply detention as a preventive measure against them will be submitted to the court.
The aforementioned economic entities caused the state about 2 billion 682 million 21 thousand 224 AMD in damage.
