US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressed respect and interest in Russia's willingness to support the settlement of the situation around Iran. Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov told journalists about it.
"Undoubtedly. A respectful and interested answer, I would say. How they will react in practice is a separate question," Ryabkov said, answering the question about the US reaction to Russia's proposal to settle the situation around Iran.
According to Ryabkov, there have been situations in the past when the US announced one thing, but acted differently. "And in general, the question of how to combine intentions and practical actions is one of the most important in our relations with the United States today."
"This extends to the entire agenda, be it the Ukrainian crisis, the situation in the Middle East, including Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, the so-called bilateral irritants and many, many unanswered questions for Washington," Ryabkov said.
