Blogger “Georgiks” and a person posing as a journalist are suspected of extorting the management of the "Diva" nightclub. They demanded money and threatened to discredit the club otherwise, which “Georgiks” did.
According to Gagik Shamshyan, on October 20, operational information was received that two citizens on different days attempted to extort the director of the “Diva” nightclub operating in Kotayk region.
Criminal police found out that in February of this year someone named Arman Sargsyan called the club, presenting himself as a journalist and offering to advertise the nightclub for 80,000 drams, but after being rejected, he threatened to slander and discredit the activities of the “Diva” club.
The criminal police also found out that in September of this year, 21-year-old Gevorg Tarjumanyan, known to the public as the blogger “Georgiks,” visited the nightclub and wanted to meet the management, offering to advertise the club for 180,000 drams, which the management rejected. After that, “Georgiks” threatened to discredit the club and its staff.
On October 1, around 1:00 a.m., “Georgiks” again visited the “Diva” nightclub and demanded free services, which was again refused, after which he posted a video on social media where he slandered the club’s management and employees.
