Trump spoke about the new presidential plane presented by Qatar. We wouldn't be able to build a plane like that

US President Donald Trump has announced that he is looking forward to the first flight of the new presidential plane, Air Force One, which was handed over to the United States by the government of Qatar, reports CNN.

According to him, the plane has become a unique project, a copy of which the USA would not be able to create without huge costs.

In a conversation with reporters, before leaving for North Dakota to participate in the events dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the United States, Trump said that the preparation of the plane has already been completed.

"I am looking forward to the first flight. They just finished all the work. The plane was adapted for the president. that means installing security systems and all the necessary special features. Everything is very complicated, but it is really something special," he said.

According to the US president, he will use this plane until the construction of the new US presidential plane is completed, which is expected after about two years.

At the same time, Trump praised the level of saturation of the plane, saying that similar planes have never been seen before.

"Honestly, we wouldn't be able to build such a plane because we wouldn't be willing to spend that much money. They did not economize on expenses," said the US president, referring to the Qatari authorities.

Earlier this month, Trump unveiled the new plane at Andrews Air Force Base, calling it "the most luxurious plane in the world."

The White House also published messages dedicated to the decommissioning of the modified Boeing 747-200, which served as Air Force One since 1990.

Currently, the re-equipment of three Boeing 747-800 planes to the presidential VC-25B modification is being carried out. Among them is the plane transferred by Qatar, which should ensure the transition period before the commissioning of two more new presidential aircraft, which are being modernized by the Boeing company. The completion of these works is expected after about two years.
