The international team of scientists has developed a unique capsule that can detect the esophageal cancer in the earliest stage of it, long before the symptoms. The new O2E technology combines two inscription methods and may be progress in early diagnosis of one of the most likely cancer. The work was published in the Nature Biomedical Engineering (NBBE) magazine.
According to researchers, if the esophageal cancer is found in the late stage, the probability of survival is about 10%. However, if it is found on time, the level of survival reaches 90%. This is the goal for new technology.
The miniature capsule combines optical coherent tomography, which allows the "see" structure of tissue, and the opto-core image that can detect the smallest vessels in deep layers. This double approach allows you to create detailed 3D images with microscopic precision.
