President Vladimir Putin dismissed Anatoly Antonov from the post of Russian ambassador to the USA. The corresponding decree was posted on the portal for the official publication of legal acts, RIA Novosti writes. "Release Anatoly Ivanovich Antonov from the duties of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United States and Permanent Observer of the Russian Federation to the United States," reads the message. Ambassador Antonov the end of the mission was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. On the same day, he left for Moscow on a special flight. Antonov was appointed ambassador to the United States in 2017. In 2011-2016, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, and in 2016-2017, the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
