Without specific measurable expectations, but with the highest risk of risks. "Fact"

"Fact" daily writes:

The subject of signing the regulation of the strategic partnership signed with the USA has become a reason for active discussion. And there is a tendency to overestimate its significance to the extreme by the authorities, and even more so by their satellite pro-Westerners.

That's why even before the signing of the regulation, they were intensively spreading the word, "look what a "global" document will be signed, we will be saved, our diplomacy is creating an "unprecedented" victory, etc., and so on.

The fact that all this is, to put it mildly, extreme, is not even discussed.

In particular, if Washington was really so interested in Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, then why, for example, was such a document not signed when Azerbaijan was invading the territory of Armenia?

It would really be a serious impulse for Turkey, a regional player, which is promoting the theme of opening the so-called "Zangezur Corridor". And then they could provide concrete progress in the field of defense cooperation, as they are doing in the case of Greece, strengthen the defense capabilities of that country in order to face the aggressive actions of Turkey.

In addition, it should be remembered that it was the Biden administration that refused to apply the restrictions of Resolution 907 and opened the way for the provision of American aid to Aliyev's anti-Armenian regime. The issue is that Resolution 907 of the Freedom Support Act prohibits the US government from providing assistance to Azerbaijan.

This means that the US has given Azerbaijan a green light to resort to aggression against Armenia. Excited by such a situation, Baku launched an attack on Artsakh, closing the Lachine Corridor, keeping the people of Artsakh under siege for months and military aggression and forced depopulation of Artsakh, but Washington did not even make a sound about the happenings. If another state had committed such war crimes, they would have covered it with sanctions from the West, but in the case of Azerbaijan, even the threat of sanctions did not work, and even a warning about sanctions by the US government would have been enough for Aliyev to "come to his senses".

It's just that some congressmen were making a fuss about circulating sanctions bills. Instead, the Biden administration constantly sent various officials to Armenia, especially IDA head Samantha Power, with promises of several million dollars in aid.

And Power, in his turn, announced that the State Department is still studying what happened in Artsakh, but the facts are so clear that there is no need to study.

The fact that concrete genocidal acts have taken place against Artsakh Armenians is also evidenced by the fact that Azerbaijan demands to renounce mutual accusations in international courts in order to sign a peace treaty.

It is clear that the ongoing investigation in the international courts can reveal the facts about the crimes, as a result of which Azerbaijan will have problems.

Although, on the other hand, there are also accusations against the Biden administration in the sense that it turns a blind eye to the reality of Israel's criminal actions in the Gaza Strip and tens of thousands of victims, so there was no need to have high expectations for Artsakh.

It is clear that the topic of human rights is applied selectively from the collective West. In other words, it can work in the case of one state, but not in the case of another.

So, for example, Bashar al-Assad was a dictator who violated human rights, who should be removed, but not Aliyev, who has turned an entire state into his "family's boston".

Another question is why the Biden administration decided to sign such a document, especially when they have only days left in office.

It is clear that the document is between the USA and Armenia, but its implementation will be placed on the Trump administration. In fact, everything depends on whether the RA authorities will be able to build relations with the Trump administration, taking into account the fact that positive signals are constantly being sent from Azerbaijan regarding Trump's presidency, and Aliyev does not miss the opportunity to criticize the Biden administration.

Another important circumstance is that, it is true, the start of the process of giving Armenia the status of a strategic partner is announced, but the question is how much it will reflect the depth of the real partnership, because the signed document simply presents certain goals, but concrete measurable actions are missing. are

Therefore, it is in this context that concerns are being raised that demands to take anti-Russian actions may be made, especially taking into account the fact that the level of relations between the USA and Georgia has recently dropped quite a bit.

Even a number of Western analysts suggest to rely more on Armenia in the South Caucasus, but if our country could not reconcile the interests of the USA and Russia and moved to the anti-Russian domain, it may find itself in a very difficult situation. Finally, it should be taken into account that Russia is in our region, and the USA is thousands of kilometers away, and it can leave the South Caucasus at any time.
