A magnificent Christmas tree near the Memorial to the Oppressed

Today, December 10, is the International Day for the Protection of Human Rights.

They set up a Christmas tree, hanging on it envelopes containing the stories of the politically persecuted.

Envelopes containing the complaints of parents of servicemen who died in the 44-day war were also placed on the Christmas tree.

"The secret of this Christmas tree is that we remember that there are political prisoners in our country. There are these people who are not recognized or accepted by our institutions, including the office of the human rights defender.

They say we don't know such people who have been subject to restriction of various rights for political reasons," said human rights defender Ruben Melikyan.
