Reuters, citing unnamed senior Syrian army officers, claims Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has allegedly left the capital Damascus and traveled to an "unknown destination" amid military operations in the country.
"Assad boarded a plane and left Damascus, flying to an unknown destination," two senior Syrian army officers told the agency on condition of anonymity.
On Sunday night, the Turkish "Anadolu" agency announced that the Syrian militants are in control of the center of the city of Homs.
The Lebanese Al Mayadeen TV channel, referring to sources, also reported that the Syrian militants, having entered the city of Homs, occupied all its districts. From Homs to Damascus in a straight line, about 150 kilometers.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced earlier that the militants are moving towards Damascus and that it is the target of their attack.
