Moscow proposed to Yerevan the construction project of a modular nuclear power plant. Vahe Davtyan

Doctor of political sciences, energy security expert Vahe Davtyan writes:

"According to my reliable Russian sources, Moscow offered Yerevan the project of building a modular nuclear power plant.

It is expected that the first meeting about it should be held already this month. And this creates a real wall situation for all those who consider that it is possible to cooperate with Russia exclusively on a large project with conventional thousands.

Now official Yerevan announces that it has a decision on the construction of a modular reactor, which is traditionally associated with proposals made by Washington.

Considering the fact that at the moment only two countries in the world, Russia and China, have the experience of operating modular reactors, as well as not forgetting the established traditions of Armenian-Russian nuclear cooperation, we can state that Yerevan no longer has any rational argument to reject the Russian proposal."
