Presidents of Russia and Iran Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the situation in Syria during a telephone conversation. They noted that the terrorist aggression in the Syrian Arab Republic is aimed at disrupting the sovereignty and stability of the Syrian state.
"Unconditional support was expressed for the actions of the legitimate authorities of Syria to restore the country's constitutional order and territorial integrity, the importance of coordination of efforts within the framework of the Astana format with the participation of Turkey was emphasized," the Kremlin said.
Further contacts with presidents and at "other levels" are reportedly planned.
