The delegation headed by the Chairman of the RA Central Electoral Commission Vahagn Hovakimyan, including CEC Secretary Armen Smbatyan, members Zhirayr Karapetyan and Arusyak Terchanyan, observed the US presidential elections.
RA CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan was sent on a business trip at the invitation of Transparencia Electoral International Organization.
The CEC president had various meetings with the main election officials of the Los Angeles region, got acquainted with the electoral system of Los Angeles, visited the centers for summarizing the voting results.
The International Organization of Electoral Systems (IFES) also invited CEC representatives. The members of the RA CEC together with the representatives of the Armenian office of IFES participated in the US Elections Program (USEP) in the US capital, Washington, on November 3-6.
It brings together election officials from 60 countries around the world, as well as representatives of political society, to study the US electoral system.
