RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan participated in a round table discussion at the East European Research Center in Stockholm. Mirzoyan was welcomed and the discussion was moderated by the director of the center Fredrik Lloydqvist, experts and representatives of civil society took part in the discussion. In his introductory speech, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the main directions of RA's foreign policy, the efforts invested in the direction of continuous strengthening of RA's independence, sovereignty, and resilience.
In this context, the issues of regulating relations with neighboring countries, the development of new partnerships, the features and prospects of interaction with countries and structures with a wide geography were addressed. The development of the Armenia-Sweden agenda was addressed both in the context of bilateral political dialogue and deepening of partnership with the EU.
In the context of RA-EU interaction, the recorded achievements were emphasized, as well as the expectations, in line with the European aspirations of the citizens of RA, in line with the process of democratic reforms in RA. In his speech, as well as in the format of questions and answers, Minister Mirzoyan made a detailed reference to the dynamics of developments and the security situation in the South Caucasus. Ararat Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the direction of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the efforts to sign a peace treaty, the prospects for establishing a stable peace and the challenges on the way.
In the context of regional stability and economic development, the issues of unblocking transport and economic infrastructures and in this context the "Crossroads of Peace" project as a potentially important component of the global infrastructure network were addressed. At the end of the meeting, RA Foreign Minister answered other questions of interest to the attendees.
