An Amazon Air cargo plane skidded off the runway at Miami International Airport, killing five people and seriously injuring five others. The Boeing 767-300 cargo plane also hit several parked cars.
The Federal Aviation Administration has canceled all flights to clear the scene of the crash. Miami Fire Chief Reid Jadala said three of the five injured were in critical condition. Officials said it was too early to determine the cause of the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
The federal agency that investigates all air accidents in the United States is scheduled to hold a news conference on Monday. Amazon issued a statement saying it was working closely with authorities and offered its condolences to the families of the victims.
