The typhoon will make landfall in China on August 9-10, bringing hurricane-force winds and heavy rains that could affect up to 30 million people.
Currently, the wind speed in the center of the typhoon reaches 47 m/s. According to forecasts, it will decrease to 35-40 m/s at the time of landfall.
In coastal regions, the amount of precipitation can reach 650 mm, which is equal to about 650 liters of water per square meter. Then, according to preliminary forecasts, Typhoon "Dolphin" will continue to move towards the inner regions of China. In some places, the total amount of precipitation can reach 800 mm, which significantly increases the risk of large-scale floods and landslides.
