"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "The Ministry of Justice, responding to the inquiry of the "Zhoghovurd" daily newspaper, informed that in recent years only one party was refused registration. We are talking about the political force founded by Artur Ghazinyan, whose application for state registration was rejected by the head of the state registry.
According to the Ministry, the basis of the rejection was the 2nd point of the 11th part of the "Parties" law. That clause defines the following: "The number of founders of the party does not meet the requirements of this law, or the founding assembly of the party did not adopt a decision on the establishment of the party or the adoption of the party's program or the approval of the charter or the formation of the leading or controlling bodies, and also the head of the leading body (or acting head) was not elected permanently."
In other words, the number of founders of the party does not meet the requirements of the law, or the necessary decisions stipulated by the law were not adopted at the founding assembly. Let's remember that Artur Ghazinyan was previously a deputy of the "Armenia" faction, but he later resigned his parliamentary mandate. Recently, his brother Davit Ghazinyan was elected a member of the National Assembly on the list of the "Strong Armenia" party. Thus, according to the information provided by the Ministry, only one political force is included in the complete list of rejected applications for state registration of parties, and that force is from the family of a lawyer, candidate of legal sciences, associate professor. Since 2006, with the support of YSU and the EU delegation, he has founded and manages the European Studies Center of YSU. Artur Ghazinyan told "Zhoghovurd" daily: "Our party, "One Armenia", has long been dissolved and legally does not exist. We did not apply to participate in the elections, we did not submit an application for registration and, in general, we do not have that problem." He also mentioned that the reason for the dissolution of the party was the political passivity of the party."
