What was the participation in the previous elections? "Fact"

"Fact" daily writes:

Before all national elections, especially before this election, it is regularly emphasized how important it is for every voter to participate, both as a civic duty and as an exercise of the right to vote.

It is often heard that our voters do not participate very actively in the elections. However, studies show that there were elections with quite active participation in Armenia.

"Past" newspaper studied the information available on the CEC official website and compared the results of the RA presidential and National Assembly elections. It can be seen from these data that the voters were more active during the presidential elections, although, for example, there was also a respectable turnout during the 2007 and 2012 National Assembly elections.

The most passive participation was recorded during the extraordinary parliamentary elections of 2018 and 2021. And so, the following participation in the RA NA elections was recorded. In 1995: 1 million 183 thousand 573 citizens or 54.3 percent of those with voting rights, in 1999: 1 million 137 thousand 660 or 51.7 percent, in 2003: 1 million 233 thousand 757 or 52.7 percent, in 2007: 1 million 375 thousand 733 or 59.4 percent. In 2012: 1 million 572 thousand 518 or 62.33 percent, in 2018 extraordinary: 1 million 261 thousand 105 or 48.6 percent, in 2021. extraordinary: 1 million 281 thousand 174 or 49.4 percent. Participation in RA presidential elections according to dates. In 1996: 1 million 333 thousand 204 or 59.2 percent, in 1998: 1 million 456 thousand 109 or 63.3 percent, in 2003 first stage: 1 million 462 thousand 383 or 63 percent, in 2003. second stage: 1 million 595 thousand 702 or 68.4 percent, in 2008. 1 million 671 thousand 027 or about 70 percent, in 2013: 1 million 518 thousand 407 or 60.05 percent.
