The 70th anniversary award ceremony of the 2026 "Golden Ball" will take place on October 26 in London. This is reported on the official website of the organizer of the award ceremony.
Previously held in Paris, the event has moved to the UK capital. It will be hosted in London for the first time in history, in memory of the first laureate of this prestigious award founded by France Football magazine in 1956, the legendary English football player Stanley Matthews.
"In addition, considering the 70th anniversary of the Golden Ball, it is logical to honor the best modern football players in the very heart of the country where football was born," the organizers said in a statement.
From 2010 to 2015, the event was held in Zurich, Switzerland, as the International Football Federation (FIFA) located in that city acted as a co-organizer. And since 2019, the award ceremony was traditionally organized at the "Chatle" theater in Paris.
Let's remind that according to the results of the previous award ceremony of 2025, the "Golden Ball" was awarded to Ousmane Dembele, the French striker of PSG.
