"Hraparak" daily writes: On May 25, for the rally after the campaign in Gyumri, Shirak Marz, CP made titanic efforts in order not to repeat the previous unsuccessful experience. We were told that the employees of all community structures were subjected to administrative terror, and they were forced to be present as one person in Vardanants Square.
A large number of people were brought from Yerevan, who were fired an hour or two ago to go to Gyumri. But a particularly large number were those brought from other communities of Shirak marz and servicemen from military units adjacent to Gyumru, some of whom were told to come to the rally in civilian clothes.
They say that there were at best 200-300 Gyumri people in Vardanants Square, the rest were newcomers, with whom the government tried to give the impression of an impressive, crowded rally.
